THE CHALLENGE
The Bell Inn is one of Thurrock’s foremost hotels / inns boasting high class menus and top quality accommodation. The hotel’s ageing Siemen’s Hi-Path system had become problematic, especially when using DECT (cordless) phones between the various different buildings – the bar, restaurant, function room and accommodation rooms.
Christopher Wright, Director at The Bell Inn in Horndon-on-the-Hill, approached LG Networks to find a solution.
THE SOLUTION
The previous Siemens DECT phone system was replaced with a newer Samsung Wi-Fi phone solution, which offered the latest functions in IP + Wi-Fi telephony. The idea was to provide better connectivity and voice clarity, increased distance and system security, whilst giving them the ability to roam freely with their handsets in any one of the connected buildings (something previously unachievable).
THE RESULTS
The phones were connected to a pre-existing Wi-Fi network, meaning that no additional cabling was required. Numerous programming steps were undertaken by our onsite engineer, Ian, to bring the new system more in line with the previous set up that the staff and owners were used to. The project was a great success with the Bell Inn and it’s staff being very happy with the new improved functionality.
As you know I was not keen on spending a chunk of money on a new phone system, it has however been well worth it. Your guys made it a ‘painless operation’ (especially Ian) not an easy task, all things considered.
